What have I become?!

I hate to admit it, but this cheesy New Age music may be just the perfect background music for doing tactics: no distracting lyrics, and in general nothing to take my mind off the task at hand. And since it is Sirius, no ads.

Next thing you know I'll be baking quiche and wearing sandals.

That's a good idea. When you don't hear the music anymore you are conscious storing patterns in LTM. When you hear the music, no such thing happens. But at least you enjoy the music:)

with the right music, you will be blitzing away in no time, writing a piece:

"How I Became a Bitz Addict, After DK: or Kant help it", or better yet, banging away in the lightning fast sub world of 0/4, 2/1, or 1/2 bullet chess, a speciality in itself,
but nice to be able to know you always make decent moves on demand in rapids or standards, in some awkward pinch?

might i suggest Teva's? then if you come to seattle, you will fit right in with the tank tops, kayaks, roller blades, and WiFi cafes, Ashtanga Yoga, and accupuncture practitioners, en masse (or the poetry workshops in durham or asheville out in nCarolina your way?).

seriously, the right music helps internet play. and, when i get to a tough spot, i just turn it off, at times... but good for mood at openings, or in finding a game, or getting ready for battle, like druids of ancient mettle or before an NBA game, that song that they play:

bong, bong, bwong...

warmly, dk

Only DK could juxtapose druids and the NBA.

...and what's wrong with sandles? My goal is to have a load of laundry with no socks!

What an eye-opener, and a disappointment. I thought North Carolina was more like this:

junior samples (wonderfull link provided by funkyfantom)is better than dante, druids, nba sneaker commercials, gambling with charles barkley, and makes me yearn for carolina barbaque, washed down with kentucky burbeon.

but seriously, i lived there, in the good old tar heal state,

have some of my truly lifelong fondest memories there,

whether it be some *unique* southern girls, balmy autumns, richly appointed thanksgivings, and hours toiling away on plans and specs for construction documents for academic buildings for wake forest university, many of which were built...

there is a tradition of what southerners call

'decency'

there, which i surely miss, in a dog eat dog world of microsoft and boeing millionares, hurring after jolts of java and microbrew beer, in the last great real estate gold rush.

time for bullet, bye. :)

I've been listening to http://somafm.com/ ambient feeds on the background for almost the whole time I've been playing chess. for exactly same reasons as you.

Can show tunes and playing the French be far behind?
