Quick update on my slackiness

Because [insert irrelevant personal details of Blue Devil Knight's life], I have done no work on Tasc Chess Tutor (TCT) since last Thursday. I'll update this post when I finally get back to it. I hope it will be tonight, but because [insert more irrelevant personal details of BDK's life], it might not be until tomorrow. If I don't update in the next three days, feel free to cast aspersions in my general direction.

It's great to see the new Knights! I have often wondered how long the blogworld of the Knights Errant will last. A couple of years? Five years? Ten years? My guess is that the Knights Errant will be around for about 7250 years.

[Update 6/29: I finally fired up TCT again last night. Luckily for me, I happened to be on the test 'Practice shorthand algebraic notation', which was a nice way to start to ease back into things.]

It seems that you have to learn what is important in life and what not first. So you will have to shift priorities if you want to ever learn chess.

Yeah, I will be about to master tactics by then.

If putting my family above chess means I'll always be a patzer, then that's ok with me!

I just don't want to become like Bobby Fischer :-P

One thing I have noticed, to my dismay, is that I have started to (infrequently) think in terms of chess analogies in my relationships with actual people! That is a creepy thing. I wonder how many people who delve a certain distance into chess are affected like this....

Some times you have to kick back, and sometimes you have to bear down. You have decades of chess ahead of you. As long as you are keeping it fun, then you can do no wrong.

Indeed, in the 28th century there will be utterances of the fabled first knights. Our exploits shall go from fact to fiction to lore to myth, and eventually...to legend.

I expect the first Knights Errant Novels will be written in the year 2117 or so :)
